Oil Drum and UI Interface

This oil drum was made for a project for my second year Asset Design course. Our task was to create a UI interface where the user can explode a barrel. The assignment was meant to teach modelling, camera animation, lighting, and real-time special effects. To go a step further, I decided to allow the user to customize the colour of the barrel. This was done by creating 8 different textures and swapping them through the UI. Other features include a rotating camera rig, a countdown accompanied by an alarm and flashing lights, an explosion effect, and a hologram regeneration effect to respawn the barrel. The model was created in Maya, the PBR textures were created in Substance Painter, and the programming and real-time SFX were created in Unreal Engine.
